We have streamlined our ordering process, offering a fully automated calculation (based on a unique algorithm developed using our extensive experience) that can offer you Kemp Sails’ high-quality made to measure sails at a substantially reduced price.
By allowing you to do more of the specification we are able to offer you the savings associated with that work, and this can be as much as 20% off the same sail ordered through our conventional ordering process – but still with Kemp Sails’ unrivalled quality, and on a (normally) 4 week timescale too.
By defining the luff, leach, and foot lengths of your sail, we can input those principle dimensions directly in to our specialist design software. By further defining the details of the usable parts and functions of the sail, you only get (and pay for!) what you want.
For genoas, this means things like the UV protective panel can be customised by colour and side, a foam luff can be added for more effective reefing, and if you don’t need a bag, this can be omitted. If you’re more performance focused, we can add tell tails and camber lines, or a foot line too.
On conventional mainsails, tell us how many reefs you need, and how we detail each, including or excluding tie-down eyes and reef ‘spectacles’ – these are processes representing time saved if you won’t use them! In addition, there are a number of essential steps to ‘tailor’ the sail and similar performance upgrades on offer.
To reflect the increasing number of modern yachts with in-mast furling mainsails, we wanted to offer these as well. We see affordably replacing them as an essential option to resolving many of the problems associated with blown-out sails that can’t be reliably furled, since recutting – even if possible – often offers only a season or two of respite.
